Child Therapy in Santa Clarita

Being a kid isn't always easy, and being a parent or caregiver is really hard work. When your child is struggling with big feelings, behavior, school or changes at home, therapy can make a real difference for the whole family.

Therapy can have a very positive impact on a child's emotional well-being, their relationships and even how they do in school. It also supports the parent-child relationship by improving understanding and communication and reducing conflict.

What Sessions Look Like

Kids don't process things by sitting and talking the way adults do, so our therapists meet them where they are. We bring in play, art, music, games and humor, and we always consider your child's age, interests and personality. Therapy should feel safe and even fun.

Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes a week, in person at our Newhall office or by video. Depending on your child's needs, we may offer one-on-one sessions with your child, separate sessions with parents, or family sessions where everyone works together.

You're Part of the Process

You know your child best. We partner with you, share what we're seeing, and give you tools to use at home so progress doesn't stop when the session ends.

Questions Parents Ask

Is my child too young for therapy?

We work with young children, and we tailor every session to your child's developmental stage. Play and art are how young kids communicate, so therapy looks very different than it does for adults.

How long will my child need therapy?

Every child is different. We'll set goals together and check in regularly on progress so you always know where things stand.

Can therapy be free?

Students in California public schools may qualify for therapy at no cost through the state's school-based mental health program. We check eligibility before the first session. We also accept Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser, Medicare and Medi-Cal.
